POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Manager has overall responsibility for the Marine Division Quality Assurance Program and oversees all quality related functions. This position provides leadership and direction within the Marine Products Division, establishing a coherent quality strategy that is consistent with Vigor culture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:(This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job's overall responsibilities)

  • Mentor and provide leadership to division management team; develop training programs for quality personnel.
  • Review of quality requirements and develop the pricing or costs related to these needs for bid proposals.
  • Review and approve procedures, oversee audit operations and projects to assure compliance to regulatory, customer and company requirements.
  • Provide written and verbal briefings to Executive Management.
  • Coordinate with department leads to ensure the effectiveness of quality programs essential to the work environment in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Prepare quarterly reports, review trend analysis for continuous improvement.
  • Ensures vendors are managed in accordance with QA program and contract requirements for the scopes of work they are performing and that Purchase documents accurately reflect these and other flowdown requirements.
  • Advise executive management in resolution of quality concerns and correction of deficiencies.
  • Recognize, report and work to resolve safety issues to maintain a work environment that adheres to workplace safety standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position is responsible for managing the Quality group within the Marine Division.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to proactively plan, set, communicates and track progress towards goals and milestones.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and employees.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to achieve results by influencing others.
  • The ability to apply critical thinking while scheduling activities, resolving problems, performing root-cause analysis and measuring quality performance throughout each project the organization may be producing.
  • Computer Skills -- Mastery of MS Office, Adobe and other job related software.
  • Recognize and resolve unsafe working conditions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related technical field from an accredited college(preferred).
  • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in quality assurance
  • Minimum of three (3) years' supervisory experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting. The person may be required to be in production areas at times. They must be able to walk to and from job sites. There may be local travel up to 10% of the time and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While in production areas will be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dusts and odors.

  • Annual cash compensation, which includes base pay and incentive compensation bonus, shall be target to be above market when the Company's overall financial performance has been positive.
